Rhinoplasty: Nose Job

Rhinoplasty is the surgical art of correcting the unwanted characteristics of the nose. It involves redesigning the nose, either by removing excess tissue or correcting insufficiency, in order to improve overall nasal shape and function. A long nose can be shortened, the wide nose can be narrowed, a wide tip can be reduced, a high nose can be lowered, and a crooked nose can be straightened.

Facelift Surgery: A Younger, More Relaxed Looking You

Facelift surgery has evolved to become one of the most popular and well-known forms of cosmetic surgery. As we age, we want to look as youthful as we feel, physically and mentally. The purpose of facelift surgery is to remove or reduce wrinkling and loose skin, as well as to lift and tighten sagging tissues of the lower face and neck. The degree of improvement depends on the amount of wrinkling and sagging tissues to be corrected. Usually the more the wrinkling, the more dramatic the end result. The goal of the surgery is not to permanently prevent aging, but rather to restore a more youthful and relaxed look.

Blepharoplasty: Creating Less Tired Eyes

As we age, the muscles around the eyes often weaken, allowing fatty tissue to protrude through them, which produces the commonly seen bags or pouches. Although this often is associated with the aging process, it can also be inherited, or related to certain diseases. In addition, the eyebrows descend, leading to an accumulation of extra skin above the eyes. Blepharoplasty (Eyelift surgery) is performed to eliminate the excess skin and fat in your upper and lower eyelids. Most commonly, both upper and lower eyelid surgery is done in the same procedure.

Neck Liposuction: Targeting The Double Chin Look

Liposuction or liposculpture is done to remove fat in order to achieve a more favorable facial and neck contour. This is often performed in conjunction with facelift and blepharoplasty surgery.

Forehead Lift: An Upper Facelift

Drooping of the eyebrows is one of the earliest signs of aging. This makes the eyes appear smaller or deeper and worsens the crow’s feet (the wrinkles often found at the outer corners of the eyes). These conditions can be improved with the forehead lift. We often recommend this in conjunction with a facelift and blepharoplasty to help in facial rejuvenation.

Mentoplasty: Chin Augmentation

Ideal facial balance starts with an ideal bony structure. One of the most commonly performed procedures to accomplish this balance is mentoplasty, or chin augmentation. Mentoplasty can bring a receding or weak chin into a better harmony with the rest of the face and create a more pleasing balance. Chin augmentation is often done in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures, such as rhinoplasty or facelift, since it can improve and enhance the result of these surgeries.

Protruding ears: Making Them Inconspicuous

Ears are ideally positioned close to the side of the head. Protruding ears can be the source of hurtful teasing and bullying, especially in primary school-age children. This can be avoided by performing corrective surgery before the age of 6 years. However, it can be performed at any age, including adulthood. The surgery is performed through incisions behind the ears to avoid visible scarring and involves sculpting and shaping the ear cartilage into a more favorable position.

Excision of Skin Cancers and Moles

If you have skin cancer, blemishes, moles or tattoos, surgical excision may be an option. There is usually a small scar which results from this type of surgery, but these generally blend well with the surrounding skin.

Reconstruction of Facial Skin Defects

Reconstruction of the skin and deeper tissues of the face may be needed after an injury or following the removal of skin tumors. Reconstruction is usually performed in our office. We usually utilize tissue from an adjacent region of the face or forehead to repair the defect so that the tissue matches the surrounding area as closely as possible. More than one operation may be needed to achieve the best possible result.
