What's Included
This option is for those not quite sure they are ready to commit. It’s a great way to come in and find out what our acne program is all about and allows you to get to know your esthetician. During your consultation we will review your skin/health questionnaire and your skin will be evaluated, including a sensitivity test to determine the type of acne you have as well as in-clinic treatment options and your home care regimen. We will also review our Acne Boot Camp folder of information with you. This information includes lifestyle changes, pore clogging ingredients, supplement recommendations, and much more!

What's Included
If you would like to come into the office for your consultation and start your treatments right away, this is the treatment you need. This option includes everything offered in the “Consultation Only” option plus your first professional acne treatment. Discuss skincare regimen, past procedures, skin analysis, skin sensitivity test, valuable information regarding products, diet, supplements and medications. Acne treatment includes: Cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, customized acne products, LED light therapy, and show you how to exactly use the products recommended.

The Bootcamp
What it is, and what to expect
Face Reality Acne Boot Camp specializes in treating moderate to severe inflamed, non-inflamed and combination acne. It has a clear-skin system that will have your acne under control in about three to four months depending on your type of acne. It combines the power of clinical-grade home-care products that are customized for your type of acne and skin with a series of bi-monthly or monthly treatments that facilitate the clearing of your skin. We also teach you about other aggravating factors that make you break out – foods, medications, cosmetics, stress, and common ingredients in skin care formulations that might be clogging your pores.
We hand pick your home-care products after analyzing your skin and doing a skin test we perform at your first treatment. Your home-care products are specifically formulated for acneic skin and guaranteed not to clog your pores. Your home-care use of ONLY these products will be used morning and night, combined with in-spa treatments will bring you to the result you have been hoping for – clear skin!

How does the system work?
We have been trained in the Face Reality Acne Protocols which work by taking into account the type of acne you have, the type of skin you have, and how fast your skin adapts to products. We will push the skin to clear with products that penetrate the pore where acne starts. We don’t push it past its tolerance, however, because we don’t want your skin to become dry and irritated. The products prevent the new acne lesions from forming; we extract the existing acne lesions and in about 3-6 months your acne is under control.
Will I have to Use these products forever?

Do I have to buy face reality products?
Yes. We only perform treatments on clients that are consistently using a full Face Reality Home Care regimen. The home care regimen is essential to the clearing process. Acne is not cured, it is controlled by consistent product usage and lifestyle adjustments. To ensure clear skin, require clients under our care only use Face Reality Skincare products. Acne is tricky enough to treat – we do not want to take any chances with other potentially harmful or comedogenic products.
Extractions & Peels
Are extractions necessary?
It’s the fastest way to get you clear – we extract the current lesions out and the home care prevents the new ones from forming. It takes up to 90 days for acne to form and reach the surface of your skin, so in the 3-4 months that we are working with you, you will see breakouts. These are just old lesions coming to the surface that we will extract every two weeks.
What do extractions feel like?
Extractions can cause slight discomfort, but the process is tolerable and crucial for the processing of acne to promote the healing process. Most people are quite red from getting extractions – there is no way around it. So, you really need to plan ahead and make sure you do not plan on being out in the sun or have a special event within 48 hours of getting a treatment
What do the peels actually do?
The high-quality, blended corrective peels have multiple purposes including thorough exfoliation, softening of comedones, and lightening of pigmentation. They also prepare the skin for maximum absorption of your homecare products. These are “superficial” peels and won’t cause downtime.
Common Questions
Can I combine face reality with another plan?
Acne is challenging enough to get under control. In order to eliminate the variables, we require that you use only our products. We don’t want to have to wonder if an outside product is causing a problem.
What if I'm on other prescription products?
You’ll be required to stop your prescription medicines 2 to 4 weeks before starting on our program. These medications make the skin much too sensitive to use this system. Therefore, we ask that you discontinue the use of any medicines. Quite simply, you would have to choose between this program or the prescription products that you are using.
How long does it take to get clear?
If you do your homecare twice a day and come in every two weeks for a treatment, your skin could clear in 4-6 months. This is not a guarantee. Some skins take a little longer, depending on the nature of their acne and how closely they follow the recommended home care guidelines they are given.
Should I stop retinol, waxing, or exfoliating?
Yes. These ingredients and treatments thin the skin and make it too sensitive for treatments.
- No waxing 3 days before or 3 days after any facial
- No exfoliation 3 days before your acne facial
Discontinue use of all Retinol/Vitamin A products at least 1 week prior to your appointment. Once you are clear, you’ll be in maintenance and once clear skin has been maintained for 6+ months, we may add our acne-safe Vitamin A to your home routine.
What is the youngest age you will treat?
We will take clients at whatever age they are breaking out. Acne does not discriminate – neither do we. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult and guardians need to give consent to our clinic in-order to treat minors.
What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
We can still treat you for acne, but first you will have to get a list from your doctor as to what ingredients they want you to avoid.
